Match Resolution to the Display

The NTB ships with an output resolution of 1024x768 because this resolution works on just about every VGA device. Shown on a widescreen display, however, the image will appear to be stretched and everything to the right of 1024 pixels will be hidden. To get the best out of the NTB you should match its output resolution to that of the Display Device.

  1. Remove any VGA distribution equipment between the NTB and the Display Device.
  2. Connect the NTB directly to the display device with a VGA cable and reboot.
  3. Browse to the "Setup | Screen" page on the NTB.
  4. Any of the available resolutions that are not "Built in" were given to the NTB by the Display Device. Select one and click "Apply".
  5. If all resolutions are "Built in" then the NTB and Screen are not communicating with each other or the Display Device does not provide this information. Select one of the built in resolutions and click "Apply".
  6. If the built in resolution does not appear to suit the Display Device then obtain the timings from the manufacturer, browse to the "Setup | Screen" page on the NTB, click "Custom", enter the timings and click "Apply"
  7. Connect the NTB back into any VGA distribution equipment.
