Select an NTB Model
There are two considerations when choosing an NTB model:

- The speed of the processor
- The presence of a TV card
Processor speed
The NTB3000 series is three times faster than the NTB100 series or NTB50.
The NTB50 is recommended only if:
- It is used as a subscriber of a published channel
- The layouts in the channel have no more than one video and one HTML zone
- An NTB100 series is also recommended.
The NTB100 series is recommended if:
- Complex or large Flash animations are not used
- Only the MPEG-2 video format is used (includes live TV)
The NTB600 series is recommended:
- For complex or large Flash animations
- For video formats other than MPEG-2
- As a channel publisher.
The NTB3000 is recommended:
- To show High-Definition video or TV
- To show two videos simultaneously.
- To show in portrait orientation.
- To make use of transparency or translucency in images and text.
TV
NTB model numbers that end in a "5" have a built in TV tuner card. You need this card if:
- You intend to show analogue or digital TV from a TV aerial
- You intend to show a video input from a TV decoder box, DVD player or camera
Note:
- You do not need the TV tuner card to show a TV station that is being streamed over your network (multicast) but you will need the Streaming TV Licence instead.
