NTB100 series: Ensure that a 12V DC power brick connects the NTB to mains electricity and that the mains are on.
Be aware that the power brick is easily confused with one for a laptop - they are not the same. Check that the power brick has "OUTPUT: 12V".
You do not need to switch the NTB on, it should come on as soon as the power does.

NTB3000 series or Rackmount: Ensure that a power cable connects the NTB to mains electricity and that the mains are on.
Make sure that the NTB is connected via a VGA cable to a display device otherwise it will not boot up. You do not need to switch the NTB on, it should come on as soon as the power does.

The lights on the NTB came on, the fans are running and I can hear mechanical sounds from inside the NTB.
