Overview
Definitions:
- One or more Display Devices can be driven from a Net-Top-Box (NTB).
- An NTB has a Schedule.
- A Schedule has one or more Layouts to play at specific times.
- A Layout is made up from one or more rectangular Zones.
- Every Zone has a Playlist.
- A Playlist has one or more media items (Content).
- Content can be video, audio, images or text files stored on the NTB or video, adudio and web content sourced over the Internet or airwaves.
Multiple NTBs:
- Multiple NTBs can be grouped into a Channel.
- A Channel has one Publishing NTB and one or more Subscribing NTBs.
- Any NTB can be configured as either a Publisher or a Subscriber.
- The Schedule on the Publishing NTB is the Schedule for the whole Channel.
- A Digital Signage Network can have one or more Channels
An Analogy from the TV World:
