Test Channel

Go to the Channel Manager Settings page and change the name of the Channel as well as the folder on the CCS where it is to be stored.

Create and publish a Test Channel on the CCS.

The Test Channel should be a trimmed down version of the Production Channel with a minimum of content and no videos. The purpose of the Test Channel is twofold:

  1. To confirm that newly-installed subscribing NTBs can access the CCS and download a complete channel but to do so without downloading the full set of content and, thus, save the Installation Engineer time.
  2. To create the folders that Ad-Hoc folder play users will require, save the Installation Engineer from having to create these folders manually and avoid the possibility of typing errors in the creation of these folders.

Because this Test Channel is intended to create the Ad-Hoc folders, it is important to include them in playlists in the Test Channel.

Production Channel

Go to the Channel Manager Settings page and change the name of the Channel as well as the folder on the CCS where it is to be stored.

Create and publish the Production Channel and keep a record of it's URL.
