How to Playlist...
-
Browse to the NTB, locate the layout and click on a suitable
zone.

Go to the "Files and Folders" tab and navigate into the folder that
you want to playlist.

If the folder is empty then use the "Browse.."
and "Upload" buttons to find files on your PC and upload
them to the NTB.
This may take a while depending on the size of the files.

Click "Add Folder to Play List" to insert the folder into
the playlist.
-
In the "Playlist" tab, click the "Edit" button
to adjust various properties as required.
TV
-
Browse to the NTB, locate the layout and click on the red
video zone that you wish to show TV in.

Go to the "Special Items" tab.
-
Select a TV station from the list of available stations.
-
Click "Add" to insert the item into the playlist.
-
Click "Edit" for the new item in the playlist, tick "Display Subtitles"
and "Apply" if you want to see the digital TV subtitles (if available).
Video In
-
Browse to the NTB, locate the layout and click on the red
video zone that you wish to show Video in.

Go to the "Special Items" tab.
-
Select a "S-Video" or "Composite" from the list of available
TV stations.

Click "Add" to insert the item into the playlist.
Video
-
Browse to the NTB, locate the layout and click on the red
video zone that you wish to show the video in.

Go to the "Files and Folders" tab and navigate into the folder where the
file is, or should be, located.

If the file has not been uploaded yet then use the "Browse.."
and "Upload" buttons to find the file on your PC and upload
it to the NTB.

Radio

Audio

"Add Soundtrack" tab.

Click the "Add" button to add a soundtrack.

Click the music symbol to edit the soundtrack playlist.

Go to the "Files and Folders" tab and navigate into the folder where the
file is, or should be, located.

Go to the "Files" tab and locate the file.

Images
-
Browse to the NTB, locate the layout and click on the blue
image zone that you wish to show the image in.

Go to the "Files and Folders" tab and navigate into the folder where the
file is, or should be, located.

Go to the "Files" tab and locate the file.

If the file has not been uploaded yet then use the "Browse.."

Text
-
Browse to the NTB, locate the layout and click on the yellow
text zone that you wish to show the text in.

Go to the "Files and Folders" tab and navigate into the folder where the
file is, or should be, located.
Go to the "Files" tab and locate the file.

Alternatively: Go to the pink "Special Items" tab and type the
text into the "Scroll Text" area or select an "Ad-Hoc Text"
item (see below for more information on the distinction
between these two types).

Click the appropriate "Add" button to add the item to
the PlayList.
-
Click on a Text zone (yellow) or the "Edit" button for zone.
News
-
Browse to the NTB, locate the layout and click on the yellow
text zone that you wish to show the news in.

Go to the "Special Items" tab.
-
Select an RSS newsfeed from the list of available feeds.
-
Click "Add" to insert the item into the playlist.
-
In the yellow "Playlist" tab, click "Edit"
to edit the properties as required.
Note that it is possible to elect to show the headline only,
details only or both.
It is also possible to show the headline in one zone,
the details in another and to make either one of them
a master and the other a slave which will change
when the master does.
Web
Linking to an External Website:
This is a link to an external website.

Browse to the web page that you want to show on the NTB
(click the above link as an example).

Copy the entire URL from the "Address" bar at the top of the
browser.

Browse to the NTB, locate the layout and click on the green
HTML zone that you wish to show the web page in.
-
Go to the "Special Items" tab.
-
Paste the URL from the website into the "External Web page"
input and click "Add" to add item to the playlist.
-
In the yellow "Playlist" tab, click "Edit"
to edit the properties as required.
To make the zone window-in to a particular part of a web page:
-
Browse to "Options" in the grey menu bar.
-
Ensure that "User Interface Policy" is set to "Detailed".
-
Browse to the wep page item in the playlist for the zone and click "Edit".
-
For "Web Page Size", select "Show part of Web Page".
-
Enter the left and top edge offsets for the top left corner of the part of the web page that you wish to show in the zone.
Without web developer tools, a trial-and-error approach is required.

If the web-page needs to be viewed in a certain size in order to force the part of it that you want to be at the position entered above then enter these values into "Web Page Width / Height".
Showing a Stored HTML File:

Browse to the NTB, locate the layout and click on the green
HTML zone that you wish to show the web page in.

Go to the "Files and Folders" tab and navigate into the folder where the
file is, or should be, located.

If the file has not been uploaded yet then use the "Browse.."
and "Upload" buttons to find the file on your PC and upload
it to the NTB.

Click "Add" to insert the item into the playlist.

In the "Playlist" tab, click the "Edit" button
to adjust various properties as required.
When creating an HTML page to be stored on the NTB,
any images, script files, data files, etc that are loaded
with the page must be held in a folder named "PageX_files"
(where the HTML file is named "PageX.html" or "PageX.htm").
If any web page is loaded into a web browser and the menu
option "File | Save As.." is clicked, the website will be
saved as an HTML file with an associated _files folder and the
pair of objects will be suitable for use on a Net-Top-Box.
Some web-pages are designed to auto-refresh and the web-page
will tell the NTB browser to reload the page every X seconds.
Most web-pages, however, do not have this feature.
In order to keep showing the latest information it is
important to determine if the web-page will auto refresh or
not.
Look for the following HTML tag:
"<meta http-equiv="refresh" >.
If the page does auto-refresh then it can be playlisted with
an indefinite duration.
If, on the other hand, the page does not auto-refresh then it
should be playlisted with a fixed duration to make the NTB
reload the page.
Clock

Browse to the NTB, locate the layout and click on the green
HTML zone that you wish to show the clock in.

Go to the "Special Items" tab.
-
Find "HTML Clock" and click "Add" to add item to the playlist.
-
In the yellow "Playlist" tab, click "Edit" to edit the
properties.

For "Duration", use "Indefinite".
Tables
-
Browse to the NTB, locate the layout and click on the green
HTML zone that you wish to show the table in.

Go to the "Special Items" tab.
-
Find the "Table" list, select one and click "Add".
-
In the yellow "Playlist" tab, click "Edit" to edit the
properties.
